Oricalculator Polygons
On pages 222 and 223 of his Origami Omnibus Kunihiko Kasahara explains the proportions of various polygons. These are used on the subsequent pages to create various polyhedra.

you can now calculate a number of common paper sizes very easily.
On his own website, Dennis has an Excel file that does these same calculations.
Enter the size of the paper for the largest polygon in the field below, the sizes will be calculated automatically. When you start entering the calculations will be displayed.
The units of the sizes are equal to the number you enter, i.e. if you enter the size in inches, the calculated sizes are also in inches.

The * and the letters refer to the largest polygon. The list below shows which polyhedra, described in the following pages, can be built from the series.
- * - Tetrahedron, Octahedron, Icosahedron.
- A - Hexahedron (Cube), Cuboctahedron, Rhombicuboctahedron, Snub Cube
- B - Dodecahedron, Icosidodecahedron, Rhombicosidodecahedron, Snub Dodecahedron
- C - Truncated Tetrahedron, Truncated Octahedron, Truncated Icosahedron (Soccer Ball)
- D - Truncated Hexahedron, Rhombitruncated Cuboctahedron
- E - Truncated Dodecahedron, Rhombitruncated icosidodecahedron
